The SS-1 is a unique water treatment product in a category of its own. It's a high efficiency water softener and a whole house chlorine filter. It's actually two products in one. Best of all you never need to change a filter because it's self cleaning every time the system regenerates.
The first stage has KDF, a proprietary media that uses a catalytic process to remove chlorine and has been shown to reduce heavy metals.
The two compartments are separated by a screen. This is not a mixed media tank.
The second stage is 1 cubic foot of fine mesh resin. This resin is vacuum packed between the screens to create the same surface area of much larger softeners.
Computer controlled regeneration. Easily adjustable hardness and regeneration times. backwash times, and salt setting are also adjustable. This is the easiest controller to program.
Minimal moving parts. The valve is designed for 100,000 cycles with no noticeable wear.
